Okay, so it took me a week to get caught up.  Sorry for the delay in writing this.  The May Game Day was awesome- especially when you consider the weather.  It never fails but the Game Day was on the first sunny day we'd had in a week, with more rain forecast for the week ahead.  We still managed to draw about 40 people.  Thanks to all who allowed their lawns to grow one day longer!

Highlights of the show...too many for me to write and I'd be sure to forget someone.  Check out the photos on Flickr when you have a moment to see many of the people who attended and the games they played.  The tables were very cool, the games excellent, and I heard a lot of laughter amidst the dice rolling.

The big news is that we have a name.  The overwhelming favorite for the club name was the Maine Historical Wargamers Association.  Look for changes on the web site to reflect this as we work to establish the new name for the club.  The name selected for the full weekend-long convention in May of 2010 is....Huzzah!  It took some time to work our way through the naming process but it was worth it to end up with a product that will represent our efforts well and that people like.

The event made about $362 which will be put towards the fees to incoporate and the insurance we need to continue to organize these gaming events.  Thanks to all who made it possible.  The game masters for their hard work in preparing and running the games, Tim Kindred for his effort in working with Wargames Factory for the display and prizes, Wargames Factory and the group who donated items for the ticket auction, Jim Hatch for organizing the ticket auction, the volunteers who helped set up, cleanup, bake for the food table, my fifth grade teacher who helped develop my love for books, my wife and daughter...you get the idea.  Lots of people worked really hard to make the day a success and sincere thanks to all.

Chime in folks- what did you like about the Game Day?

The next Game Day will be in October.  Stay tuned for details...

Huzzah!

And if He can't turn their hearts
May He turn their ankles, so we'll know them by their limp.

Hey folks -

I've finally U/L'd the photos I took at the Con. I was playing in the "House on the Hill" game (in the basement) so my photos are from that  game. There are also a couple from the WW1 game that Chris Boynton was running at the next table.
